Lutron lighting control in Pacific Palisades.

A house being rebuilt in the Palisades is the right moment to plan lighting and shades as a system. County Line Electric designs and installs Lutron systems on Palisades rebuilds and remodels, with the equipment selected for the home's wiring, rooms and project scope.

Why the Palisades is different

Rebuilds plan lighting control into the walls.

The houses going back up after the January 2025 Palisades Fire are new construction, and that changes what lighting control costs and how well it works. Centralized HomeWorks dimming panels, keypad runs, Ketra fixture wiring and shade power all go in at rough-in, while the framing is open, instead of being fitted around finished walls. The current energy code also requires lighting controls in a new house, and a planned Lutron system can meet those requirements as part of the design.

Owners rebuilding here usually have a lighting designer or an architect drawing the lighting plan. County Line reads that plan before the walk, flags the conflicts with the framing and the structure, and programs the scenes with the designer at finish. Permits and inspections are the City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety's, as part of the house's electrical permit.

Palisades lighting questions

When should lighting control be planned on a Palisades rebuild?

Lighting control on a Palisades rebuild should be planned before rough-in, while the framing is open, so the dimming panels, keypad wiring, Ketra fixtures and shade power go in with the branch circuits. County Line Electric works from the lighting plan and coordinates with the designer.

Can Lutron lighting control be added to an existing Palisades house?

The options depend on the existing wiring, equipment and desired controls. A site review determines which wired or wireless Lutron products fit the project and what installation work would be required.

Do motorized shades work with the lighting system?

Compatible Lutron lighting and shading products can be coordinated through scenes, schedules and controls. County Line Electric checks product and processor compatibility before proposing a system.
